1.5 Registration process

Registration for the Sunoco Driven Challenge is free, but must be done by completing the official registration document before the start of the first points scoring race. Racers can enter after the first race, but will only score points after official registration documents have been filled in.

Note. Racer’s points will still be weighted to the total number of races in the series or championship, even if the racer has entered after the first race.

1.5.1 Registered racers can only score points from one qualifying series or championship and cannot switch series or championship once points have been scored in one series or championship.

1.5.2 Sunoco and Joe Gibbs Driven reserve the right to refuse registrations at their own absolute discretion.

1.6 Points system

Points will be awarded to the first 10 finishers in each race according to the chart below plus 20 points for pole position.

1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th 6th 7th 8th 9th 10th Pole

100 pts 75pts 55 pts 40 pts 30 pts 25 pts 20 pts 15 pts 10 pts 5 pts 20 pts

1.6.1 Points for pole position shall be given to the fastest time from a timed qualifying session and will not be awarded if qualifying is cancelled and the starting line-up set by points or some other method.

1.6.2 Should less than 10 cars start a race, points will be calculated by reference to the number of cars starting the race. E.g. if 8 cars start the race, points from the race including points for qualifying will be calculated on the basis that 80% only of the points normally awarded for race result and pole position will be awarded.

1.6.3 Points will be averaged. This means that each driver’s total points for the race season will be divided by the number of races in the series or championship.

1.6.4 All events in a series or championship count towards the Sunoco Driven Challenge.

1.6.5 Points will be awarded for the first 10 cars even if 10 cars are not classified as finishers according to individual qualifying series scoring system. This means that if only 6 cars are classified as finishers we will award points in the order they are listed including DNF down to tenth position.

1.6.7 Points will be given according the classification system regardless if the finishers are registered for the Sunoco Driven Challenge. This means should the top registered Sunoco Driven Challenge competitor finish in second place he will be given 75 points and not 100 points. The same applies to pole position.

1.6.9 Ties – In the case of a tie in the final point standings, the tie will be broken according to the racers’ relative number of first place finishes, the number of seconds, etc. down to tenth place finishes. If the tie is still not broken, firstly the number of weighted pole position points will be decisive. In the unlikelihood that there is still a tie after race results and pole positions are accounted for Sunoco and Joe Gibbs Driven reserves the right to choose a suitable method to break the tie.

1.6.12 Dispute – Sunoco and Joe Gibbs Driven will decide any dispute or question about awarded points.

1.7 Registered racer obligations

Registered racers will endeavour to race competitively and fairly. In addition they must make sure that the trademarks of Sunoco Driven Challenge, Sunoco, Joe Gibbs Racing and Joe Gibbs Driven (the brands) are treated with respect. Should a racer be found to refer to the brands disrespectfully, Sunoco and Joe Gibbs Driven reserve the right in their sole discretion either fully or partly to disallow Sunoco Driven Challenge points that would otherwise have been collected.

1.7.1 Registered racers agree to clearly display two Sunoco Driven Challenge logos on the race car visible on each side the race car.

1.8 Sunoco Driven Challenge winner obligations
